About the Journal

Comprehensive Plant Biology is an international peer-reviewed journal published as the official journal of the Institute of Botany and Botanical Garden Jevremovac, i.e., Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. It is the renamed continuation of Botanica Serbica. The journal is edited by an internationally recognized board of plant scientists, and it is published exclusively electronically.

Comprehensive Plant Biology publishes original research papers on all aspects of plant and fungal biology. The manuscripts dealing with plant-oriented microbiology will also be considered for publication.

Significant records will be considered for invasive, red-listed, rare, or long-time underrecorded taxa, changes of taxonomic status, revisions, and similar contributions within specialized columns jointly.

Small contributions should be submitted with a maximum of two authors per contribution. The records article is prepared by the column editor(s) with the aid of contributors, with a focus on certain regions of Europe and adjacent regions under the titles:

-          New records and noteworthy data of plants, algae, and fungi in South-eastern  Europe and adjacent regions (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia,  Slovenia, and some adjacent regions)

The articles will be published upon the collection of significant contributions.

A couple of species records will not be considered as a manuscript if, apart from the novel records, additional information and investigation results do not consider taxon biology and ecology analyses (filed and/or experimental data) and are not fully presented in the manuscript. If you are not sure about eligibility, feel free to contact the journal editor.

Please include valid affiliation(s), email(s) and ORCID numbers for all the authors/contributors at any submission.

In case you have doubts about whether your manuscript fits into the scope of the journal, feel free to contact the editor.

Decisions on whether manuscripts will be accepted rest with the Editorial Board.

The peer review process in Comprehensive Plant Biology is double-blinded.

The article processing is free of charge for the authors.
